    Research and Development (R&D)

    As a Student Programs participant located in a 3M R&D laboratory you will develop skills, and gain work experience in your field of study. You may get a chance to work in exciting technologies at the heart of tomorrow’s most creative products. Some examples include: Biotechnology and Health Sciences, Flexible Electronics, Radio Frequency Identification, Electronic Systems, Optical Devices, Nanotechnology, Pressure Sensitive Adhesives, Abrasives, Optical Films and Display Technology, Filtration, Composites, and 25 plus other 3M Technology Platforms.

  • Corporate Engineering

    Engineers routinely pursue new ideas and have the freedom to embrace and develop new technologies. You can help find solutions in product manufacturing machine design, control systems integration, engineering analysis, process development and enhancement, and supporting infrastructure.

  • Invent a New Future

    Here, at 3M, you can enter the “Invent a New Future Challenge,” a business case competition that tests the problem-solving and communication skills of college seniors and first-year graduate students. This year’s contest takes place at 3M locations in 14 countries, including 3M US. Students will gain valuable business experience and have the opportunity to visit 3M’s global headquarters and land a six-month mentorship.
