3M™ 8440 Series Cold Shrink Silicone Insulator is designed to provide primary electrical insulation for all solid dielectric insulated wire and cable splices rated to 1000V. The insulator is ideal for indoor and outdoor use, as well as overhead or cable tray applications. It withstands a wide temperature range of -66 to 500 degrees F (-55 to 260 degrees C).

3M™ 8440 Series Cold Shrink Silicone Insulator is an insulating sleeve that is specially formulated from high-temperature silicone rubber for moisture protection. It maintains resiliency and pressure, even after years of aging and exposure. This insulator ensures top moisture sealing for medium-voltage, air-insulated connectors and lugs. It offers resistance against acids, alkalis, fluid splashes, ozone, ultraviolet light and fire. This insulator is ideal for use in sheath repairs and electrical aircraft cables and it provides insulation for inline conductor transition connectors. RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
