3M™ TufQUIN TF Inorganic Hybrid Insulating Paper-Polyester Laminate. This is a 2-ply composite of TufQUIN paper bonded on one side with PET film for high-temperature electrical insulation applications. (IPT)

3M™ TufQUIN TF Inorganic Hybrid Insulating Paper-Polyester Laminate. This is a 2-ply composite of TufQUIN bonded on one side with PET film for high-temperature electrical insulation applications. Qualified for use in electrical insulation systems up to Class 200(N) per UL 1446 and IEC Std. 60085; CSA Component Acceptance at 200°C. Applications include slot cell, phase, and wedge insulation in motors and generators; and ground and layer insulation in dry-type transformers. TF laminates are flexible, conformable materials with high tensile strength, excellent tear resistance, and low moisture absorption. The inorganic content in the TufQUIN paper offers in high thermal conductivity, long-term voltage endurance, and resistance to partial discharge (corona) that helps TF laminates withstand damage from voltage spikes; the polyester film reinforcement provides stiffness, high mechanical strength, and resistance to tear. TF laminates are well-suited for automatic insertion applications, as well as heavy-duty winding applications. TF laminates are compatible with commonly used impregnating varnishes and resins, and are easily impregnated, further enhancing thermal conductivity and coil bonding characteristics. 3M™ Innovative Paper Technologies UL Recognized Insulation Systems (File No. 65007) may be found on UL’s Electrical Insulation Systems Database at http://www.ul.com/eis/ .
