3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pads are high performing foam compounding pads for refining and removing sand scratches from automotive or industrial painted finishes. The foam face pattern provides consistent surface contact and holds compound to reduce slinging. These single-sided pads feature insets for easy centering on rotary polishers, and Hookit™ hook-and-loop attachment for easy change-outs.

Use 3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pads as firm yet conformable pads with 3M™ Perfect-It™ Compounds. 3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pads combine features that help save time and improve overall results of your compounding work. The foam face pattern is designed to maintain consistent surface contact for maximum efficiency, and to hold compound to limit slinging. This pad is sized for a variety of specific applications including working with cured, hard or medium finish paint, denibbing, scratch removal and refining P1200 or finer sand scratches even in confined spaces. A reverse taper protects the edge of the backing pad, helping reduce the chance of damage to the finish. Single-sided construction features our Hookit™ attachment to save time and preserve pad life. We developed these foam pads as part of our 3M™ Perfect-It™ Paint Finishing System to keep pace with evolving paint and clear coat technologies. Foam compounding pads are generally less aggressive and produce a finer finish than wool pads, ideal for the critical compounding steps of the paint refinishing process. 3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pads are best used in conjunction with 3M™ Perfect-It™ Compounds and feature a built-in inset for quick attachment to rotary and random orbital polishers.
